Chris and I booked us a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise, for our 10th anniversary, way back in March and could hardly wait until September. The boys were going to be back in school so we enlisted Nana and Grandma for the job. we are so lucky to have them here and willing to help out, for such a long time.
Our first stop was Vegas for a quick overnight, and flight bright and early. We landed in Long Beach California fairly early in the morning and headed straight to the port, which turned out to be the best way to do it. We were one of the first groups to board the ship, and sat and ate our first cruise meal, while the others waited for hours in very long lines. Chris was like a giddy little school girl, he could hardly wait to walk on. I on the other hand was a bit nervous to be out of touch with my kids for 7 days, and had some serious butterflies.
Here is our ship....The Carnival Splendor
Taking our own pictures so we didn't have to pay for the others.
Walking in to the lobby
On the very tip top.
Our first day was spent trying to figure out where to go, and where we were, and basically learning how not to die while on a very large ship. I cant remember where we were but we wanted to watch the ship pull away from the dock, but all of the sudden we were half way out to sea, and we missed it. OOPS! Oh well, there is always next time.
